this server is the 5th (i think?) installment of the minecraft server! let's play together, as long as you're nice!

✅ server version: java 1.21.5

you can still connect with newer versions when they release eventually, but you at least need 1.21.5.

📜 server rules

1. be respectful to all players. no harassment, hate speech, any phobic actions, or excessive negativity.

2. no griefing or stealing from other players or their builds/bases.

3. no creating lag machines or excessive redstone contraptions or farms.

4. no exploits, hacks, cheats, xray mods/texture packs, or anything that give unfair advantages.

5. keep chat appropriate.

6. don't do anything illegal.

7. admin say is final!

🔮 new stuff

spawn only allows players. any other entities (including dropped items!) that enter the radius will be immediately vaporized.

mobs can level, and in turn provide a greater challenge for players.

•

higher-levelled mobs will have more health, deal more damage, and move faster.

•

but in return, they'll give move xp, and have higher item drop chances.

•

be careful when engaging hostile mobs, especially at night!

~~you have a backpack! you can use this to carry more items.~~ disabled for now because 1.21.5!

spirits will collect your items upon your death. they'll put them into a safe chest, that initially only you can open.

•

you can open this chest by right-clicking on it to quickly get your inventory and equips back.

•

if you lack inventory space to pick up all the items, you'll have to toss some items temporarily to make room.

•

your chest will wither away after a total of 5 minutes have passed. after that, your items will drop onto the ground.

•

but be warned! after 2.5 minutes, the spirits stop safeguarding your chest, meaning anyone can loot your items.

•

if you die from PvP, no chest will appear and your items will immediately drop onto the ground.

•

any items you might have in the backpack will drop onto the floor (due to inventory space).

powered rails provide more speed if you place a block of redstone underneath it.

some small hidden additions. see if you can find any?

🚀 how to join

beforehand,

make sure you have the java edition of minecraft
ensure your minecraft username is whitelisted (ask elina if you want to be whitelisted!)

then,

in minecraft's title screen, click on Multiplayer and then Add Server
name the server whatever you'd like (e.g. "Elina's Server", or "big pissers only")
enter the server IP into the "Server Address" field
click Done, then join the server!

📝 just so you know

- given how new 1.21.5 is, some features are disabled / things are messy! pls be patient okay <3

- there will be three admins on the server. their say will be final. (one of them is me!)

- in the spawn area, building and pvp will be blocked.

- outside of the spawn area, pvp will be enabled. but please don't go overboard with it...

- have fun, but don't do so at the expense of others!

soft (re)launch!

welcome back elinaSMP, we've missed you! some things are missing because support for 1.21.5 isn't as widely available for all plugins and features. thank you for your understanding!

server features:

new mobs can spawn with different levels
new spiritual chests will temporarily preserve items safely on death
- the chest will hold for 5 minutes then wither away, dropping your items onto the ground
- after 2.5 minutes, anyone can loot the chest
- 75% of your experience is kept in the chest as well
new faster minecart rails
- placing a block of redstone under a powered rail will provide much more acceleration.
- you may have to use multiple in a row to get to the top minecart speed.
- using these faster rails will derail you on turns and slopes, so make sure to slow down beforehand!
